A Colombian judge has been suspended after appearing on a Zoom call half-naked, smoking in bed

A Colombian judge known for posting racy photos on her Instagram page has been suspended for three months after she appeared in a virtual Zoom meeting while half-naked and smoking a cigarette in bed.

In a 33-second clip circulating on social media, 34-year-old Judge Vivian Polania can be seen lounging in bed, looking almost awake while dragging a cigarette. At one point in the hearing, the prosecutor told Polania her camera was on and she immediately turned it off as the hearing continued, local media reported.

The virtual court session centered around discussions about whether to release bail for a man accused of a car bombing in 2021.

One of the lawyers on the call reported that Polania allegedly violated Colombia’s National Commission on Judicial Ethics.

The commission said in a written ruling that Polania’s suspension will remain in effect until February 2023, the Spanish-language website Infobae reported.

“It is the duty of this committee to avoid repeating the judge’s disdain for assuming her position and the disdain she showed with her peers in the Public Prosecution, Prosecution and Defense,” the committee wrote.

A Colombian judge has faced disciplinary action in the past over her racy photos on Instagram.

“We could find no justification for the judge to present herself in such deplorable circumstances when she had the facilities of her own home and all the comforts necessary to prepare for a public hearing appropriately and with the respect due to such a hearing.”

Fox News Digital has reached out to Polania for comment.

In response to the incident, Polania told a local radio station that she was lying in bed during the hearing because she was having an anxiety attack, according to Spanish-language outlet El Pais.

She further alleged that she had been threatened with disciplinary action in the past for her online behaviour.

“You never know when you’re going to have an anxiety attack. I always wear my dress,” she said, adding that she “has hypotension.”
