Amazon plans to lay off nearly 10,000 people in corporate and technology jobs starting this week, people familiar with the matter said, in what will be the largest job cuts in the company’s history. The cuts will focus on regulating Amazon devices, including the Alexa voice assistant, as well as in its retail and human resources department, said the people, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they are not authorized to speak in public.
