Google Maps is implementing another AR-based feature for location services to allow consumers to explore their surroundings by looking through their phone’s camera. Search with Live View gives consumers the ability to view things like coffee shops and ATMs in their immediate vicinity by simply holding their phone and pointing it at their surroundings. Search with Live View will be available in London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Tokyo on iOS and Android.
If you live in a city where this feature is available, simply press the camera button in the Google Maps search bar, point your phone’s camera at surrounding buildings and locations, and check out the points that appear to indicate landmarks. You can learn more about the point by clicking on it.
