Browser multitasking features: Microsoft edge update

Microsoft showed off an upcoming Microsoft Edge update that allows users to split a single browser window into multiple viewable tabs. While the browser previously allowed normal tab functionality with minimal restrictions, the new update allows users to display two tabs simultaneously on the left and right half of a single Edge window.

This feature also works seamlessly with current tab features, such as grouping, pinning, copying, and more. Essentially, this new update brings single-monitor settings functionality that rivals dual-monitor settings for productivity without having to open two web browsers simultaneously, which can be very taxing on older systems’ RAM.

The company has not yet confirmed the release date of the feature, but it will be available in an update soon. Additionally, Microsoft has confirmed that it is working on a version of this feature for macOS and Linux.
