Treasury Secretary Jim Chalmers says China will be a “big part of the story” in terms of the global economy amid the war in Europe and difficulties with supply chains.
“Obviously China is going to be a big part of the story when it comes to our outlook for the global economy this year,” Chalmers told Sky News Australia.
“The combination of war in Europe, difficulties related to COVID and supply chains obviously high interest rates are swinging around the world and here as well.
For all these reasons people still expect it to be a difficult year in the global economy.
Obviously, the way China plays will have serious consequences for us.
