China’s reaction to Pelosi’s visit ‘over the top’ but ‘not unexpected’

Sky News political editor Andrew Clennell says Australia believes the Chinese reaction to US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan was “unexpected” but “exaggerated”.

He said the Australian government’s approach was not to publicly comment on Pelosi’s controversial visit.

“But the government is concerned about activities that have taken place in retaliation and that something might go astray,” Clennell said.
