The Chinese People’s Liberation Army said it had successfully hit “target” areas in the waters off the coast of Taiwan during military exercises on August 4. The Army’s Eastern Theater Command said that “its forces conducted long-range live firing exercises, and carried out precision strikes on specific areas in the eastern Taiwan Strait.”
