COVID vaccine lawsuits start | Armstrong Economics

The North Shore University Health System in Chicago has been sued by a religious non-profit organization called Liberty Counsel. The group claims that NorthShore violated workers’ religious independence by denying religious waivers and forcing all workers to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. NorthShore was wrong and decided to settle the $10,337,500.

More than 500 current and former employees will receive compensation, and the group will notify others of the lawsuits and give them the option to file a claim. “NorthShore will also change its illegal ‘No Religious Residences’ policy to bring it into compliance with the law, and to provide religious accommodations at each location across its many facilities,” Freedom Counsellor stated.

Other groups will follow suit. They may have given the drug companies immunity, but there was a gray area for employers. Countless people lost their jobs because of the vaccine mandate, which would likely be a violation of the Constitution.

The lawsuits may start with large corporations, but if Republicans regain control, health agencies and government officials may be investigated as well. The lawsuit is a major win for medical independence as companies will be less likely to comply with government mandates because they now know they may risk legal retaliation.
