Czech Republic Economic Confidence January 2023

The economic sentiment index, published by the Czech Statistical Office (CSO), rose to 92.0 in January from 89.7 in December.

Consumer confidence increased in January, with the index rising to 82.9 from 75.5 in December. The increase reflects the concerns of families decreasing about their financial conditions and the general economic situation.

Moreover, the Business Confidence Index rose to 93.8 from 92.5 in December. The result came on the back of strong sentiment in industry, trade and selected service sectors.

FocusEconomics panelists expect private consumption to increase by 1.4% in 2023, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2024, they see consumer spending growth of 3.0%.
