Dashcam Police Capture a Fireball in Southern Michigan Sky

The New Buffalo City Police Department said a police camera in New Buffalo, Michigan, captured a meteor streak across the night sky on Thursday, Sept. 15, while an officer was on patrol. New Buffalo Police said Officer Nathan Wojtowicz was driving north on Whitaker Street on Thursday night when a “very rare sighting” occurred. The American Meteorological Society said it received 24 reports of fireball sightings from people in Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana early Friday morning.
