Digitization of MSMEs is key – Concepcion

GO Negosyo Founder Jose María “Joy” Concepcion 3rd said Saturday that the digitization of the country’s Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) is essential to boost their potential to scale to greater heights.

Concepcion made the remark while highlighting MSME digitization during Go Negosyo 3M on Wheels’ latest entrepreneurial guided tour at Ayala Fairview Terraces in Quezon City on Saturday.

“We believe MSMEs will benefit most from digitization. Platforms like Lazada have proven to be a natural fit for small entrepreneurs as it removes a lot of barriers for them in business,” said Concepcion.

They also shared many of the elements that contributed to their success as online entrepreneurs, namely patience, goal setting, consistency, discipline, strong promotion, continuous learning, having a mentor, appetite for risk, and the right mindset.

Quezon City Mayor María Josefina “Joy” Belmonte, who graced the Go Negosyo event, expressed her support for the city’s MSMEs.

“Ito po ang diwa ng pagbabayanihan (this is the spirit of cooperation),” said Belmonte, who said the city is also doing its part to help MSMEs through the “Pangkabuhayan QC Program” and the digitization of its 100 percent permit processing.
