Dominican Republic Economic Activity November 2022

Economic activity rose 2.9% year-on-year in November, which is a reversal from the 3.8% annual expansion in October. The November result was the weakest reading since February 2021.

Accordingly, the trend deteriorated. Average annual economic activity growth fell to 5.5% in November (October: +6.3%), its lowest level in more than a year.

Finally, on a seasonally adjusted month-over-month basis, activity rebounded and expanded 1.5% in November, contrasting with the previous month’s decline of 0.4%.

FocusEconomics panelists see the economy growing 4.1% in 2023, down 0.1 percentage point from last month’s forecast, and expanding 4.5% in 2024.
