Davao City — The Davao Region Ministry of Trade and Industry (DTI-11) has built 286 shared service facilities (SSF) and assisted 1,370 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) across the region since 2013, an official said. Monday
Maria Belinda Ambi, Director of DTI-11, said that SSF projects not only helped MSMEs in their operations but also helped 4,146 other beneficiaries by providing 1,497 job opportunities.
“We are optimistic that our beneficiaries will continue to maximize and improve on the benefits of the SSF projects we have provided them,” Ambi said in a news release.
Since 2013, Ambi said DTI-11 has been able to “gradually address” gaps and bottlenecks in the value chain of priority industry clusters in the region by providing machinery, equipment, tools and other related accessories for processing, production and manufacturing to 1,370 micro, small and medium enterprises.
“They can also contact our regional and field offices, including Negosyo centers across the region, for any form of assistance, especially technical,” she said.
With these projects, many SME success stories have been documented, including the production of virgin coconut oil from the Cocolife Multipurpose Cooperative in Pantukan, Davao de Oro, with its first project established on June 21, 2013, and receiving an attachment on December 16, 2015. .
