FBI investigating arson attack on anti-abortion clinic in Buffalo

The FBI said on November 14 it offered up to $25,000 to help identify the Molotov cocktail suspects at an anti-abortion medical clinic in Buffalo, New York, in June. Surveillance footage released by the FBI shows unidentified people starting a fire and smashing windows at the CompassCare Pregnancy Services Center in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst. The incident occurred on June 7, about two weeks before the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, ending protections for abortion rights at the federal level. The CompassCare website says it offers medical advice and guidance for people considering abortions and lists “abortion pill reversal” among its services. According to the FBI, the fire caused “significant damage.” The FBI said someone sprayed the word “Jane was here” on the building. The day after the fire, CompassCare released a statement blaming the arson attack on a political group called “Jane’s Revenge.” CompassCare wrote: “Abortion terrorists broke glass, threw firebombs at CompassCare’s pro-life medical office in Buffalo.” “The graffiti message left by criminals says, ‘Jane was here’ in reference to the Jane Revenge terrorist organization,” the company said.
