Fighting for the middle class has always been the role of the Liberal Party.

New South Wales Premier Dominic Beirut said Central Australia were the people his party “came to represent”.

“Their battles should become our battles because we fight for them every day,” he said.

He said this was “always the role of the Liberal Party” as the middle class had been “working on” the creation of Australia.

“These are the people, our people, who, generation after generation, have earned our nation’s place among the most prosperous nations in the world,” he said.
