Fire in south London railway arch leaves structure ‘completely burnt’

London Fire Police said a railway arch in south London was “completely on fire” with a fire on Wednesday, 17 August. Footage released by the London Fire Brigade shows firefighters and a large cloud of smoke on Great Guilford Street on Wednesday. The London Fire Brigade said the force was called to fire at 9:29 am on Wednesday. Ten fire engines and about 70 firefighters remained present at about 10 a.m. “The trains to and from London Bridge were affected and many buildings were evacuated,” the brigade added.
