Footage emerged of Karl Stefanovic singing and dancing at the event accused of touching a bartender.
The Today Show host was the head of festivities at the A Night For Melanoma event by The Six Hour Project Charity in Brisbane on August 20.
In the clip, Stefanovic leads the audience in a performance of Chic’s “Le Freak” while strumming with the melody.
He jokingly encouraged the audience to “sit at the tables” during the performance.
“Come on…don’t hesitate to get up,” he said.
Queensland Police confirmed on Thursday that they are investigating a report of the alleged assault of a man at a Mercedes-Benz fundraising showroom.
“Queensland Police are investigating a report regarding the alleged assault of a man at Newstead during an event on Saturday, 20 August,” a spokesperson told The Courier Mail.
“As investigations are underway, it would not be appropriate to provide further comments.”
Stefanovic attended the ceremony with his wife Jasmine.
Friday’s Show resumed hosting duties after the saga came to light after spending last week in London covering the Queen’s funeral.
Tonight 350 people attended and raised more than $290,000 for charity.
Nine Network declined to comment on the allegations.
