Greece inflation december 2022

Coordinated inflation came in at 7.6% in December, down from 8.8% in November. December’s figure represented the lowest inflation rate since February. The result was moderately driven price pressures on transport, housing and utilities.

The trend is pointing upward, with Harmonized Average Annual Inflation coming in at 9.3% in December (November: 9.0%). Meanwhile, consumer price inflation fell to 7.2% in December from 8.5% in the previous month.

Finally, Harmonized Consumer Prices fell 0.65% in December compared to the previous month, below November’s drop of 0.26%.

FocusEconomics panelists see the harmonized rate of inflation at 4.8% in 2023, which is 0.3 percentage points lower than last month’s estimate. In 2024, our panel of experts sees the harmonized inflation rate at an average of 2.1%.
