NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) – A Homma man has been arrested for allegedly catching and possessing too many sharks, according to the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries.

Agents say Anoda Lirett, 44, was detained July 26 in Oyster Bayou, south of Lost Lake in Tribune Parish. Officials say he was in possession of meth and drugs, as well as a small shark.

Agents allegedly saw Lirette throw another shark into the sea because he went over the limit.

He was booked into Tribune Parish Jail. He faces more than $5,500 in fines and two years in prison.
