Initial weekly jobless claims rise to 240,000

The Ministry of Labor stated:

On the week ending November 19, the advance number of Seasonally adjusted initial claims were 240,000, an increase of 17,000 from the previous week’s revised level. The previous week’s level has been revised up by 1,000 from 222,000 to 223,000. The four-week moving average was 226,750, an increase of 5,500 from the previous week’s revised average. The previous week’s average was revised up by 250 from 221,000 to 221,250.
