Insurance companies must meet the ‘end of the bargain’

Emergency Management Minister Murray Watt says insurers must complete “their end of the bargain” after the government committed to investing in mitigation, and debated the issue of building on the floodplain.

“Our government is now doing some of the things that insurers have said are necessary to bring premiums down,” Watt told Sky News Australia.

“My call to the insurers is, well, if we do our end of the bargain, do whatever you want.”
