King Charles III ‘deserves much recognition’ for his work in Northern Ireland

Former Deputy Prime Minister John Anderson has said King Charles III’s upcoming visit to Northern Ireland follows in the footsteps of Queen Elizabeth II, a “grand unifier”.

“It was built, I think, on her tremendous tolerance and generosity of spirit,” he told Sky News host Peter Cridlin.

Anderson said the king “deserves a lot of praise” for the efforts he’s made in the region.

“It reflects well on him that he is going there very early … We wish him all the best because it is a really very important business that he is embarking there for the good of the union,” he said.
