United States / America:

The Biden administration approved funding for new nuclear energy initiatives today. Pacific Gas & Electric of California will receive a $1.1 billion grant. Diablo Canyon is the last nuclear power plant in the entire state of California. The plant was scheduled to be decommissioned in 2024 and 2025, but the Senate voted to keep it running for an additional five years. This is part of a $6 billion investment for the Civil Nuclear Credit that helps build on nuclear power in the United States.
