Television weather forecaster Eric Adams said Monday he was fired from Spectrum News NY1 after appearing on an adult cam website.
Adame, in a lengthy post on Instagram (Read it below)said he acted with “compulsive behaviours,” even though he worked on television in New York City, the country’s largest media market.
“It was absurd to think I could keep this private,” he wrote. “However, my employer found out about this and I was fired and then my employment was terminated.”
NY1, the 24-hour cable news channel, did not immediately respond to HuffPost’s request for comment.
Adame apologized to his employers, viewers, and co-workers.
He wrote, “I get the professional help I need so that I can make appropriate decisions that don’t affect those I care deeply about, as well as on my career, as I move on with my life.”
Adam, who has been on the station since 2017, admitted that while he fell short of professional standards, “I don’t apologize for being openly gay or being so positive — these are gifts and I’m not ashamed of them.”
Adams filed a lawsuit against Unit 4 Media Limited in state court Monday seeking the identity of an anonymous user who sent the space-distorting photos to NY1 and his mother, according to the Daily Beast.
