Officials: Cow intestines spilled all over North Houston Road

“I’ve never come across anything like this before,” said Tahg Scott. “This is my first time, but definitely the worst smell ever.”

HOUSTON — Residents in a North Houston neighborhood are holding their breath, literally, after Houston city officials said a truck spilled cow intestines all over the road.

“I’ve never come across anything like this before,” said Tahg Scott. “This is my first time, but definitely the worst smell ever.”

Scott says she had to pick up her youngest daughter, Teijan, from nursery school. The car drove through the chaos.

“It’s unspeakable and I should wear a mask like you now,” Scott said. “We ended up going to her day care and getting out of my car and couldn’t figure out what that bad smell was. I went out with her and things were hanging from under the car and flies were swarming.”

City officials say cow intestines were strewn at the corner of Hardy Street and Kavalcade Street. Someone called the stink around 4pm on a Wednesday.

“It’s awful,” said Jerry Benoit. “Most people are walking around in silence.”

Benoit says the city quickly cleaned up the mess, but the stench is still there.

“Yes, you’ll be here for a while,” said Benoit. “It’s going to be a little longer.”

KHOU 11 reached out to the city of Houston to see if they knew his truck had his intestines dropped. We are still waiting for a response.
