Optus CEO offers emotional apology

Optus CEO Kelly Bayer Rosmarin offered an emotional apology to customers for the company’s data breach.

This comes after a massive cyber attack that affected more than nine million Optus customers.

“We have strong cybersecurity controls. We thwart…thousands of attacks every year, every day,” she said.

But it is a good warning to all organizations that even if you have strong cyber capabilities and a dedicated focus and investment in this area, there are sophisticated players out there.

We work closely with all authorities and the Australian Federal Police. This is a criminal investigation.”
