They seek compensation and prevent further publication of the images. The French magazine Closer, the Italian magazine Chi, and the Irish newspaper The Daily Star all published some topless photos.

September 12, 2013 Kensington Palace officials announced that William had left the British Army. He will now focus on philanthropy and his royal duties.

August 7, 2014 – It is announced that William will begin training next September to become an air ambulance pilot, a year after he left the Royal Air Force, where he flew search and rescue helicopters. His first air ambulance shift will be in the spring of 2015. It’s the first time a member of the royal family, who is directly on the throne, has held a civilian job. East Anglian Air Ambulance is operated by a private company, Bond Air Services, but the Duke will donate his salary to charity.

May 20, 2021 – William criticizes the BBC for contributing “a great deal to the fear, paranoia and isolation” felt by his late mother, Princess Diana, in the years before her death. The comments come after the BBC offered an unconditional apology for the BBC’s controversial 1995 interview, Martin Bashir, with Diana, in which she described the breakdown of her relationship with Prince Charles. An investigation found that he used “deceptive” methods to secure the historical interview.
