Qantas profits are rising due to strong demand

Qantas, Australia’s largest airline, is turning a profit even after skyrocketing fuel and seat fares, says Ross Greenwood, Business Editor for Sky News.

“Her shares soared as she said underlying pre-tax earnings would be $150 million more than her guidance just seven weeks ago,” Greenwood said.

“The airline says consumers are placing a higher priority on travel before other forms of spending — and it says the cost and constraints of international travel are driving more demand for domestic airlines.”
