A former CW “Riverdale” actor has been sentenced to life in prison after confessing to killing his mother and plotting to assassinate Canadian Prime Minister Justice Trudeau.

Ryan Grantham, 24, was sentenced in the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver on Tuesday. The actor is also ineligible for 14-year parole.

Grantham had previously pleaded guilty to the second-degree murder of his 64-year-old mother, Barbara White.

White is said to have been playing the piano at the family’s Squamish home in British Columbia on March 31, 2020, when her son shot her in the back of the head.

During a hearing in June, prosecutors said the young actor recorded a GoPro video in the aftermath of the murder and recorded his mother’s body.

“I shot her in the back of the head,” Grantham reportedly admitted in a video clip. “In the next moments, she would have known that it was me.”

Grantham reportedly wanted to protect his mother from witnessing the violence he planned to commit next, according to prosecutors. Her body was soon found by Grantham’s sister, Lisa.

The day after the killing, the actor reportedly packed his truck with Molotov cocktails, shotguns and ammunition and headed east with the intention of killing Trudeau in Ottawa.

Grantham then turned around after considering committing a mass shooting at Simon Fraser University, where he was enrolled. He eventually turned himself in to the Vancouver Police Department that night.

The young actor reportedly suffered from feelings of depression and self-loathing, which prosecutors believe were exacerbated by isolation, smoking a large amount of cannabis and watching gory videos online.

In a daily blog written on the day of the murder, Grantham reportedly apologized to his family and said “nobody” would understand him.

According to prosecutors, he wrote, “I’m so sorry Mom, I’m so sorry Lisa… I hate myself.” “There is so much of my media…Movies and TV…Hundreds of hours of me can be watched and dissected…No one will understand.”

Judge Kathleen Kerr noted that Grantham has been receiving counseling in prison and appears to be improving, according to CBC.
