A judicial source said that, on Wednesday, the Lebanese Public Prosecutor submitted charges to the judge investigating the Beirut port explosion, and ordered the release of all those arrested in connection with the devastating explosion. Ghassan Oweidat’s decision indicates the rising opposition of Lebanon’s ruling class to Judge Tarek Bitar’s efforts to resume his investigation into the 2020 bombing that killed more than 220 people.
