The Queen was ‘always a reassuring presence’: Albanese

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said Queen Elizabeth II had developed a relationship with Australia that was “extremely important”.

“Her first visit took nearly two months and she visited dozens of cities and towns across our vast continent, and it was her first of 16 visits,” Albanese told Sky News Australia in an exclusive interview before meeting King Charles. Third.

“And during that time she met, of course, notable Australians, but she also met Australians every day.”

Albanese said this was part of a six-month world tour around the Commonwealth.

“During that time, Queen Elizabeth was a regular visitor to our beaches and had contact with about 16 prime ministers and 16 governor-generals, so this was a period of tremendous change in which the Queen was always reassured.”
