Twitter Verification Delayed: Elon Musk says Twitter is stopping restarting blue check verification

Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, said on Monday that the social media company is delaying the relaunch of its blue-check subscription service, a delay from its initial schedule to bring the service back on the platform.

“Delaying the relaunch of Blue Verified until there is high confidence that impersonation will stop,” Musk said in a tweet.

He added, “It is likely that choosing a different color will be used for institutions than for individuals.”

Twitter has discontinued its recently announced $8 blue check subscription service where fake accounts have been proliferating and said Twitter’s coveted blue check subscription service will relaunch on November 29.
