Unborn children can be registered as dependents in Georgia

Georgia law states that life begins with conception. Regardless of cases of rape and incest, or if the mother’s life is in danger, abortion is prohibited in the state. The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) reported that Dobbs vs Women’s Health Jackson The judge considers the fetus to be “normal people”.

Therefore, under this reasoning, the unborn child has constitutional rights. The Georgia Tax Service will now allow taxpayers to claim unborn children as dependents. DOR stated, “The Department will identify any unborn child with a detectable human heartbeat… as eligible for Georgia’s individual tax exemption.” Tax credits may be up to $3,000 per unborn child. The heartbeat can be detected as early as six weeks of pregnancy by ultrasound.

Even some liberal voices praise this new law because it will help low-income families who need extra money. Other countries that vehemently oppose the practice of abortion may follow suit. Let’s just hope the government doesn’t find a way to tax unborn people.
