UnionBank “Techs Up” Again at the 2022 Singapore FinTech Festival

UNIONBANK emerged on the global stage at the recently concluded Singapore Fintech Festival (SFF) for the fifth consecutive year as the Gold Sponsor of the only Philippine bank promoting the “Tech Up Pilipinas” call that is the cornerstone of its digital strategy.

UnionBank has been part of the annual festival since 2018, working the hall with the largest banks in the region. This year, the event was attended by more than 60,000 attendees, more than 850 speakers, and more than 500 exhibitors, a testament to its status as “the most influential fintech event in the world.”

The UnionBank delegation, led by Chairman Erramon Aboitiz and President and CEO Edwin Bautista, showcased the key business units that are the pillars of its digital journey through a two-story exhibit booth in the show’s priority sponsors area.

UnionBank’s Trailblazing technologies for blockchain technology, data analytics and artificial intelligence were displayed on the booth’s patent wall, while the bank’s digital journey was prominently displayed in the booth’s central area. Of note is the game-changing video of UnionBank’s acquisition of the “crown jewel” of Citi.

Multiple screens on the booth highlighted how UnionBank’s technological innovations affected their customers while high profile UnionBankers were on hand to tell the deeper stories behind these innovations.

Apart from engaging with clients, entrepreneurs, investors, government, financial services, and technology leaders, UnionBank Group CEOs led panel discussions and speaking sessions at various stages of the 2022 SFF. Corporate clients were also invited to hear relevant global and local presentations affecting the financial industry at the festival.

Among the dignitaries from the Philippine government who visited the UnionBank booth, Bank of the Philippines (BSP) officials included Deputy Governor Chuchi Fonasir, Deputy Governor Bernadette Romulo Boyat; Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Commissioner Kelvin Lester Lee; And the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Budget and Administration.
