Virtual banking environments: uni verse

Union Bank of India (UBI) has announced a new virtual banking project titled ‘Uni-Verse’. UBI is creating Uni-Verse through direct collaboration with “Tech Mahindra”, a multinational information technology company. In essence, Uni-Verse will be a traversable virtual environment that will allow UBI customers to perform every task they would normally travel to a physical bank.

UBI aims to move Uni-Verse beyond the scope of a mere virtual bank, although the government organization aims to connect with younger residents on a deeper level through the convenience of the metaverse. As such, UBI will host a variety of workshops, talks and conferences at Uni-Verse. These talks will focus on important topics related to finance such as savings, investments, loans, welfare, and more.

Two of the primary perks of banking in the metaverse, according to the UBI standard, are speed and security. Each client will be extensively validated before carrying out banking tasks, and clients will have continuous and fast access to their banking accounts and services.
